Barry and Nia both had their formal training in stained glass at the Wrexham Architectural Glass course under Mr Mel Harries.

After working as a freelance glass artist for various companies, Barry was employed at Ancient and Modern glass based in Bangor-On-Dee, where he stayed for a year. He was then employed as a studio manager at L.G.S Tectonics based in Halkyn, North Wales. LGS Tectonics was owned by the late Mr Den Robinson.

Two years after Barry leaving LGS Tectonics to set up Meridian Stained Glass, LGS was bought by Chester Masonry and renamed Linley Stained Glass. The small gallery shows some of Barry's favourite pieces he led a team producing during his tenure.

Other team members during this period were Mr Phillip Gough, currently working for Fusion Glass in London and Mr Nick Wilson who completed his training on these jobs, then staying on after Chester Masonry bought the company.
